Employee giving through payroll deduction, or matching gifts from your company are a great way to amplify your giving to Cumberland. Many employers offer a matching gift program to employees. Check with your employer to see if they will double—or even triple—your contribution to Cumberland.

When you make Cumberland Part of your estate plans, you ensure future generations of residents have access to the compassionate community we offer. A bequest, or gift from will or trust, allows you to:

  • Retain control and use of your assets for your lifetime

  • Modify your parameters of giving if your circumstances change

  • Possibly be exempt from certain federal estate taxes

Be satisfied knowing you provided for Cumberland’s future, with no immediate costs to you

IRA Distribution
If you are over age 70½, you may give a gift from your IRA as a tax-free distribution to a qualified charity. This means an amount (up to $100,000 annually) transferred from your IRA directly to a charity like Cumberland can count toward your required minimum distribution without being considered taxable income for you. The distribution, also known as an IRA Charitable Rollover, is authorized by Section 408(d)(8) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund is a philanthropic vehicle that provides you with immediate tax benefits and allows you to recommend grants to your favorite charities. Ask you fund administrator to consider a one-time or recurring grant to Cumberland to sustain our ability to offer healing and hope to those we serve.

State Employee Charitable Contributions (SECC)
If you or anyone you know is a State Employee, please let them know that they can have an automatic payroll deduction for a donation to be given to Cumberland through United Way of Denton County. The SECC code for Cumberland is 295086.

Become a Monthly Donor
Recurring donations are an ongoing commitment to Cumberland. You can choose to give weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly. Set up your recurring donation, so you don’t have to think about it again.
