Why Cumberland?

Jennifer is thrilled to be part of the Cumberland team, especially as it embarks on this brand-new Foster Care and Adoption Program journey. She highlights the staff's collective years of experience in the child welfare industry, making it an exciting and knowledgeable environment for families.

The primary goal is to lay the foundation for families in the area, enabling children to stay within their communities. By providing local care and support, children can find comfort in familiar surroundings while receiving the care they need.

Program Requirements

The Foster Care and Adoption Program staff aims to make the process as accessible as possible. We will be conducting informational sessions every month, guiding potential foster and adoptive parents through the requirements, training, and preparation necessary to care for children with trauma. The program's priority is not only to support the needs of children but also to provide essential support to the foster and adoptive parents, both technically and emotionally. Cumberland's commitment is to ensure that foster and adoptive families feel fully supported and prepared throughout their meaningful journey.
